FAQs about installation and setup of QTeeApp
  • How to get started:

All you need to do is set up a profile then send a request or accept a request from another QTeeApp user with your Profile.

To set up a Profile, follow the instructions below in “How do I setup a new QTee Profile?”, if you haven’t already set one up in the Startup Wizard.

To send a connection request, you will first require another QTeeApp user’s Profile information to request a connection with them. Then go to Contacts from the main menu and tap on the menu list icon in the top right corner. Then tap “Add New Contact” (see “How do I add contacts?” below).

To accept a request from another QTeeApp user, you must first provide the user with your Profile information. Then, from the main menu go to Settings > Tell a Friend and then tap Share (see “How do I tell a friend about QTeeApp?” below). Of course you could also use the old fashioned way and call them on the phone! Remember to include your case-sensitive QTee Name and QTee Key so your friends can instantly start messaging with you.

Once you’ve provided another QTeeApp user your profile information the user will send you a connection request. When you receive his/her connection request just tap Accept and you’re instantly messaging. See “Where is my profile information to provide to other QTeeApp users?” below, to get your Profile information you want to use

1 – From the main menu go to Settings > QTee Profiles, then tap the menu list icon in the top right corner, then tap Add QTee Profile. Your QTee Profile will be automatically prepared based on the information entered below (it’s a combination of your Friendly Name and QTee Tag). Once you’ve saved your new profile you’ll provide the QTee Name and QTee Key to other QTeeApp users you want to connect with.

2 – The one word name and one word key information you enter here can be generic (example TennisGirl or FunnyGuy77) or something meaningful to you (like your actual name, pet’s name or business name). You don’t need to write this information down as it’s automatically saved for your reference (all of your profile names and keys are listed under QTee Profiles in your Settings). All profile information can be composed of letters and/or numbers and is case-sensitive.

3 – The QTee Tag is the anonymous number generated by QTeeApp to ensure your QTee Profile is unique, and if you don’t like the tag number provided simply tap on it for different options.

4 – The Private Name is a label for your reference; in case you want to connect to multiple people with the same profile (for example you may want to connect to the people you work with using the Private Name WorkFriends), and for your privacy, it isn’t displayed to anyone but you. Even if you use the same profile to connect with multiple people, your individual chats with each person are still private and not displayed to the other connections.

5 – Your Friendly Name is what identifies you to other QTeeApp users when you connect with them (for example Tony or GolfGuy).

6 – The QTee Key you enter will be provided to other QTeeApp users you’d like to connect with.

7 – Once you’re done, tap Save in the top right corner and your profile is complete. Remember this information is automatically saved for your reference and can be viewed under QTee Profiles in your Settings.
